Alvin Tenpo > Rock Bucket on Rock Pile Turtle Bay, Redding, CA Dragline buckets were used to gather gravel out of the Sacramento River. Once the gravel material was dredged, it was sorted, washed and crushed and used in the making of Shasta Dam. This dragline bucket and rock pile remain as a reminder of the work done in Redding in the construction of Shasta Dam. Photograph front lit by sodium vapor flood lights and moonlight. Cal., my good friends David and Natalie drove me around downtown L.A. to scout out locations for downtown L.A. skyline shots. We chose the 6th Street bridge. The 6th Street bridge is one of several historical bridges that traverse the mythical Los Angeles River. The 6th Street Bridge was built in 1932/33. The light was changing fast, so David stopped the car on the bridge and dropped me off so I could setup. I actually enjoyed shooting the bridge rather than the skyline. Many thanks to David and Natalie for indulging my hobby.
Alvin Tenpo > Kirby Cove Campground Host Best to use the food lockers at the campsite. Raccoons will stop by and check your campsite for security loopholes. I found this fellow actually inside the dumpster with the lid closed. He gave me a surprise when I opened the lid to dump my trash.
