Alvin Tenpo > Devil's Corn Field, Death Valley, CA The restaurant at Stovepipe Wells opens for dinner at 5:30pm and sunset was at around 7:15pm. We had to eat quickly and hit the road. We didn't know exactly where to shoot, but ended up at Devil's Cornfield.
Alvin Tenpo > Financial Rubble Cook Building, Rhyolite, NV We placed a Coleman lantern inside the building and lit the foreground with a spotlight, feathering the edges of the beam.
Alvin Tenpo > Financial Meltdown Cook Bank Building in Rhyolite, NV. Ambient moon light, combined with sidelighting from a Coleman latern. Interior lit with red gel'd strobe. Some free transform processing in Photoshop to straighten the building lines. Credit goes to my friend David for help with lighting.
Alvin Tenpo > HD & LD Porter Mercantile Rhyolite, NV The moon and clouds give this a look of a HDR composite, but it was captured in a single shot.
Alvin Tenpo > Financial Pillars Remains of the Overbury Bank, Rhyolite, NV. The moon finally came out from behind the clouds to provide some ambient light, combined with side light from a Coleman lantern. Accent lighting on the block wall with a red filtered flashlight.
