I've always wanted to photograph these rocks off of Rodeo Beach.
It's a popular subject with photographers. We were in the area and the timing
was right.

Dragline buckets were used to gather gravel out of the Sacramento River.

Once the gravel material was dredged, it was sorted, washed and crushed
and used in the making of Shasta Dam.

This dragline bucket and rock pile remain as a reminder of the work done in Redding in
the construction of Shasta Dam.

Photograph front lit by sodium vapor flood lights and moonlight. Bucket interior lit with blue
LED flashlight.
